Abstract

The experiment was carried through in the Farm São João city of Jaborandi-sp, in the period of 2004/2005, with objective to evaluate the amount and quality of ensilage without the use of the main spikes, being only used the second spikes, of maize hybrids (Zea mays L.). The used experimental delineation was of blocks to perhaps, with three treatments and four repetitions. The gotten results had shown that the amount or production of green mass had significant difference the hybrids evaluated in relation, with hybrid AG7000 presenting bigger average (62998,25 kg/ha). E how much the quality or percentage of dry substance (20%) and crude protein (6,19 a 8.17%), the hybrids had shown to average averages the good quality, showing that the amount of spikes influences in the quality of crude protein.
